How to Do Tayammum — Step by Step Guide for Beginners
Share
Tayammum is a beautiful gift from Allah — a dry purification method that allows Muslims to pray even when water is unavailable or cannot be used. Whether you are travelling, unwell, or in a place without clean water, Tayammum ensures you never miss your Salah.
When Can You Do Tayammum? You can perform Tayammum when water is not available, when using water would harm your health, when you are travelling and cannot find water, or when water is too far away.
What Do You Need? Clean earth, sand, stone or dust. The surface must be natural and clean.
Step by Step Guide Step 1 — Make the intention (Niyyah) in your heart to perform Tayammum. Step 2 — Say Bismillah. Step 3 — Strike both palms on clean earth or dust once. Step 4 — Wipe your entire face with both hands once. Step 5 — Strike your palms on the earth again. Step 6 — Wipe your right arm up to the elbow with your left hand, then your left arm with your right hand. Step 7 — Your Tayammum is complete — you may now perform Salah.
